Gujranwala: A woman who had contracted a free-will marriage two months ago was shot dead by her brother in Gujranwala’s Mari Thackeray area of Sadar Kamoke on Sunday.

Enraged over their love marriage, the man killed his sister and injured his brother-in-law because the deceased Kiran got married to her cousin Shahbaz. It was a love marriage that her brother disapproved of.
The man opened fire on his 24-year old sister and her 26-year old husband, following which the girl died on the spot while her husband sustained injures.
Rescue teams and police reached the spot after getting information and shifted the deceased and injured to DHQ Hospital.
Police started an investigation into the incident. However, the suspects managed to escape the crime scene.
The officer claimed that the woman's brother along with another suspect carried out the murder.
