The investigating officer said that interim bails have been running for two months, till now the accused have not been investigated

Interim bails of Asad Umar, Imran’s sisters extended

Lahore: The Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore Tuesday extended the interim bails of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar and party chairman Imran Khan’s sisters till November 22 in the May 09 vandalism cases.

According to details, Judge Arshad Javed of ATC Lahore heard the case in which Asad Umar, Alima Khan and Uzma Khan appeared before the court after the interim bail expired.

During the hearing, the investigating officer said that interim bails have been running for two months, till now the accused have not been investigated and the court is being misrepresented that the investigating officer has not been found.

Burhan Muazzam, the lawyer of the accused, took the position that the investigating officer has already declared the accused guilty.

The court extended the interim bail till November 22 while ordering the accused to be involved in the investigation at the next hearing.

It is pertinent to note that cases have been registered against PTI leader Asad Umar and other accused in connection with the violent incidents of May 09.

While talking to media outside court, PTI leader and former federal minister Asad Umar said: “I have been invited to join Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), while I stand with PTI,” calling IPP the best of luck in politics.

Talking about pollution, he added that November has not started yet and this is the situation of smog, high quality fuel should be used in Pakistan.
