Police demand Rs1.19 billion from govt for elections
The Punjab Police has requested the funds for security, petrol, food and drink expenses.
Lahore: The Punjab Police has demanded Rs1.19 billion from the provincial government for the expenses incurred on the security of the general elections 2024.
According to the details, the Punjab Police has requested the funds for security, petrol, food and drink expenses. After the new survey, the scheme of polling stations has also been sent to the Election Commission.
Police has declared 5624 polling stations as highly sensitive and 14072 as sensitive. The control rooms have been set up in the Inspector General (IG) office to monitor the election. 130,000 police officers will perform duty on the election day.
