7.0 magnitude quake jolts border areas of China, Kyrgyzstan
The Chinese Earthquake Network Center says that 40 aftershocks were also recorded after the earthquake.
Beijing: Strong earthquake tremors were felt in the border areas of China and Kyrgyzstan whose intensity was recorded at 7.0.
According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was in China's Xinjiang region. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
After the earthquake, people came out of their houses in severe cold, however no casualties have been reported yet.
The Chinese Earthquake Network Center says that 40 aftershocks were also recorded after the earthquake.
According to reports, the railway system has also been affected due to the strong tremors of the earthquake that the railway department stopped 27 trains.
