Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) appeal to conduct the general elections under the judicial supervision.

Justice Shakeel Ahmed dismissed the PTI’s plea while pronouncing a reserved decision on their application, the written decision will be issued later.

PTI's lawyer Moazzam Ali Khan requested in the court that PTI is not being provided with a level playing field for the election. We have no faith in Election Commission, Returning Officers, Deputy Returning Officers and bureaucracy.

Moazzam stated that it is not possible to conduct a transparent election under the management of the current bureaucracy. Therefore, we want elections to be conducted under the supervision of judicial law officers.

After hearing the arguments, the Peshawar High Court had reserved its decision on the petition of PTI.

It should be noted that PTI had requested to conduct the elections in Pakhtunkhwa under the supervision of the judiciary.
