Blast outside election candidate's office in Pishin, 15 killed
The police have confirmed the death of 12 people in the explosion in Khanuzai, while the death toll is expected to rise.
Pishin: In an unfortunate incident, 15 people have been killed as a result of the blast in Khanuzai area of Pishin district of Balochistan.
The police confirmed the explosion in Khanuzai, saying that the explosion took place outside the election candidate's office. After the explosion, the motorcycles parked in the area were destroyed and as a result of the explosion, many people were injured while 15 people were confirmed dead.
As soon as the explosion was reported, a heavy police force reached the area and the injured are being shifted to the hospital.
The medical superintendent of Khanuzai Hospital confirmed that 15 dead bodies and more than 30 injured people have been brought to the hospital after the blast, most of them in critical condition. The death toll is expected to rise.
It is also reported that the explosion took place outside the office of Asfandyar Kakar, a candidate participating in the general elections and former minister, but he was not present in the office. At the time of the explosion, a large number of people were present in the area, while the offices of other political parties are also present in this area.
Former minister Asfandyar Kakar belongs to a political party, but this time he is contesting as an independent candidate after not getting a ticket.
Caretaker Information Minister Jaan Achakzai said that a tragic incident happened in Khanuzai, it was not a suicide blast, the explosive material was planted in a motorcycle.
He said that this is a failed explosive attempt to sabotage the election process in Balochistan. Elections will be held tomorrow and will be peaceful. Corner meetings have been held. 'We will continue our responsibility even after this tragic incident'.
On the other hand, the Election Commission says that the explosion occurred near the office of a political party in the provincial constituency PB-4 in Pashin district, taking notice of which an immediate report has been sought from the Chief Secretary and Inspector General (IG) Balochistan.
