According to details, the factories will be allowed to operate from Monday and construction activities will also resume.

In April, the city witnessed massive surge in cases with daily infections crossing the 25,000 mark; however, it is now reporting 1,500 daily cases in the past few days.

Meanwhile, the Indian government has warned its people to continue following coronavirus protocols as the pandemic is not over yet.

Other Indian states are also reporting a drop in the number of cases but experts warn that even if the second wave appears to be waning for India as a whole, it is by no means true for all states.

India’s current Covid took on frightening proportions, driven in part by a new variant of the virus which has double mutations. The country overtook Brazil as the country with the second-highest number of cases in the world, behind the USA. Experts are concerned that given the low testing rate, India possibly has higher number of cases than either US or Brazil.

The country reported almost 1.73 lakh new cases, 3,617 deaths in last 24 hours.
