Govt takes significant decision regarding Iran-Pak gas plan
Pakistan will ask the US for an exemption from restrictions on the Iran-Pakistan gas line project.
Islamabad: The government has taken significant decision regarding Iran-Pakistan gas pipe line plan. The caretaker cabinet has affirmed the decision to lay down the pipe line from Iranian border to Gwadar.
According to the details, the caretaker cabinet has confirmed the decision through summary circulation. The lay down of this pipe line will save Pakistan from the fine of $18,00,00,00,00,0 which has been imposed by Iran in case of not fulfilling this plan.
However, 750 million cubic feet of gas from Iran will be very cheap compared to Limited Northern Gas (LNG). As a result of buying gas from Iran, Pakistan will save more than 5 billion dollars annually.
Pakistan will ask the US for an exemption from restrictions on the Iran-Pakistan gas line project.
