Recent increase in petroleum prices challenged in LHC
It has been argued in the petition that the current government is dropping petrol bombs on the people.
Lahore: The recent increase in the prices of petroleum products was challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Citizen Munir Ahmed filed a miscellaneous petition against the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products. The federal government, federal ministry of petroleum and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) have been made parties in the miscellaneous petition.
It has been argued in the petition that the current government is dropping petrol bombs on the people, the federal government has no right to increase public hardship, unjustified increase in the prices of petroleum products is tantamount to abrogation of public rights.
It is further stated in the petition that the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products will increase problems of peopel, the court should declare the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products null and void.
