Lahore: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered to intensify the crackdown against overbilling and electricity theft.
According to the details, a meeting was held at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zonal Office under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in which the progress on action against over-billing and electricity thieves was reviewed.
Mohsin Naqvi directed that indiscriminate action should be continued against the officers who burden the citizens through overbilling, adding that the zero-tolerance policy on overbilling will continue.
The interior minister said: “It is not acceptable to make people suffer for the incompetence and negligence of discos, it is a priority to give relief to electricity consumers in over-billing”.
Mohsin Naqvi ordered to continue the action against the electricity thieves and stated that indiscriminate action should also be taken against the government staff involved in electricity theft.
