The first pre-Hajj flight PK-743 of the national airline departed from Jinnah International for Madinah at 3:30am
Karachi: The pre-Hajj operation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started from Karachi also.
According to the spokesperson of PIA, the first pre-Hajj flight PK-743 of the national airline departed from Jinnah International for Madinah at 3:30am where PIA Chief Operating Officer Amanullah Qureshi saw off the pilgrims from Jinnah International Airport.
Spokesman PIA said that before the departure of the flight, Hajj pilgrims were given garlands of roses at the airport.
The Chief Operating Officer of PIA while congratulating the pilgrims on their departure for Hajj stated that the Umrah operation of PIA has been completed successfully and the Hajj operation will also be completed successfully.
PIA will transport more than 34,000 pilgrims from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, 19,000 pilgrims will reach Saudi Arabia under the official Hajj scheme and 15,000 under the private Hajj scheme through about 170 PIA flights.
It is pertinent to note that PIA is operating Hajj flights from Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot and Sukkur while pre-Hajj operations will end on June 10.
