Taylor swift in hot water, sued for $2m by theme park over alike album name
American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has been sued by a theme park in Utah because with the same name as her latest album ' Evermore'. The artist launched the album as a surprise in December 2020.
The park, which first opened in 2018, offers visitors of all ages a chance to involve themselves in a dream world complete with baby dragons, dwarves, Knights and other magical elements put on by effects crews and costumed artists.
The theme park owners claim that Swift’s album has confused visitors and negatively affected the park’s fame on search engines and that their goods designs have also been infringed. Further they claimed that the album was released on December 11 and internet search results for the theme park dropped in favour of the album.
Swift lawyers said the charges are ‘frivolous , baseless and irresponsible’. They added that the singer-songwriter styled her new album in a way that is entirely diverse from the park’s aesthetic.
