Chief Minister of Punjab further said that for the elimination of corruption, a performance analysis and evaluation system is being introduced in the police

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz said she is accountable to 130 people of Pakistan, therefore, police should control crime.
A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam in which the law and order situation was reviewed across the province. Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar gave a briefing about the overall law and order situation and police performance.
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz stated that the facts cannot be turned a blind eye, no-go area at any place in Punjab is not tolerable, the crime rate in the province should be controlled in any case. If the crimes are high, people forget the reforms and development of the government.
She added that the police are also giving sacrifices, but there are also black sheep. She is with the police and standing behind the force. ‘I expressed solidarity by wearing uniform, we are providing all the resources to the police so that the efficiency is not affected’.
The Chief Minister of Punjab further said that for the elimination of corruption, a performance analysis and evaluation system is being introduced in the police. 14 special check posts are being set to stop inter-provincial smuggling, while vehicles, equipment, weapons, training and every demand of the police are being met.
It is the responsibility to ensure the safety of every policeman standing at the check post. Effective action should be taken on the DG Khan model to tackle electricity theft across the province, if electricity theft ends then load shedding will also become zero, added Maryam.
Maryam Nawaz also stated that she appreciates the IG, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha and District Police Officer (DPO) for rescuing 10 people from the mob and evacuating them safely. More than 50 percent reduction in robbery incidents in Lahore is welcome. The incident of workers going with their wages being looted is not only sad but shameful.
He further added that the RPO Sheikhupura has been given a deadline to control the incidents of robbery. The operation should be continued on a regular basis for the prevention of drugs, and the police should take effective measures to prevent incidents of aerial firing.
The CM Punjab continued that blocking the road in the presence of the traffic warden is very sad. The lane should be restricted for motorbike riders on the road. The political interference in the police affairs has been stopped, now the police should perform. The DPOs should clear their district from corrupt officials and criminals.
In the meeting, the proposal to establish "beggar barracks" in Punjab jails was agreed upon.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Inspector General Police Dr Usman Anwar, Additional Inspector General Special Branch, DIG Operations, CCPO and other officials attended the meeting. All RPOs, Central Police Office (CPOs) and DPOs participated in the meeting through video link.
