According to the documents, 1863 schemes will be completed in the next financial year


Lahore: The Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman will present the budget for the next financial year today (Thursday), the size of the budget will be around 53 billion rupees.
The budget session in the Punjab Assembly will begin at 2:00pm. Before the session, the budget will be approved by the Punjab Cabinet.
Rs700 billion for development budget, Rs95 billion foreign funded ongoing schemes are also included. It is proposed to allocate Rs33.82 billion for development projects.
According to the documents, 1863 schemes will be completed in the next financial year.
It is proposed to allocate Rs14.48 billion for the local government. The target is to complete 1,617 ongoing and 246 new schemes in the next financial year.
The allocation of over Rs1.21 trillion has been proposed for road sector schemes and Rs2 billion for special education.
It is proposed to allocate Rs3.50 billion for literacy and non-formal education and Rs4.875 billion for sports and youth affairs while over Rs76.61 billion for specialised health care.
According to the documents, it is proposed to allocate Rs33.897 billion for primary health care, Rs3 billion for population welfare department and Rs8.99 billion for water supply and sanitation.
It is proposed to allocate Rs1.579 billion for social welfare, 926 million rupees for women development department, Rs20.785 billion for public building and Rs24.381 billion for urban development.
It is proposed to allocate Rs10.798 billion for the Industries Department while 37.386 billion rupees for the Planning and Development Department.
