CPPA has filed a revised application in NEPRA


Islamabad: The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed an application with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for an increase of Rs2.63 per unit of electricity price.
According to the reports, the price per unit of electricity is likely to increase by Rs2.63. In this regard, the CPPA has filed a revised application in NEPRA.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency has requested an increase in the monthly fuel price adjustment for June 2024, which will be heard on July 31.
It is pertinent to note that the CPPA had earlier requested an increase of Rs2.11 per unit.
According to CPPA, 35.13 percent of electricity in June was generated from water, 11.06 percent from local coal, 1.95 percent from furnace oil, and 8.66 percent from local gas.
CPPA said that 18.10 percent of electricity was generated from imported Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) last month, and 14.85 percent from nuclear fuel in June.
