JUI(F), PTI to formulate joint strategy on constitutional amendment
PTI delegation called on Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman
Islamabad: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Thursday have formed a two-member committee to prepare a constitutional amendment draft through consultation.
This was decided during the meeting of PTI delegation with JUI (F) chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman at his residence in Islamabad.
According to details, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led delegation called on Rehman where both parties agreed to formulate the joint strategy pertaining to the constitutional amendment.
Rehman said, "This is not a right narrative that I am asking to support any amendment. I am only looking to embrace the national interests."
The delegation had conveyed the message of the PTI founder to Rehman, saying, "You [Maulana Fazlur Rehman] have played a commendable role on the constitutional amendment."
Expressing his thoughts after meeting with Rehman, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja said: "We have constituted the joint committee to review the constitutional matters."
"The way Maulana Fazlur Rehman helped to stop the constitution from getting sabotaged will be remembered forever," Raja stated.
