Court order to exclude Shibli's name from ECL within week
Justice Tariq Mahmood said that why these issues were not raised in assembly
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the Ministry of Interior and others to remove the name of Shibli Faraz from the Exit Control List (ECL) within a week.
Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri of IHC heard the petition of Shibli Faraz on the contempt petition for not removing his name from the ECL despite the court order.
Shibli Faraz appeared in the court along with his lawyer. The court inquired if the name has not been excluded as yet. To which the lawyer replied that they were neither telling nor giving a report.
Justice Tariq Mahmood said that why these issues were not raised in the assembly. To which the lawyer said that something opposite is happening there, the speaker also says the same.
The court ordered that the name should be removed from the ECL within a week and informed to the court and if it is not implemented within a week, the interior secretary should appear before the court in personal capacity.
The court adjourned the hearing for a week.
