Imran, lawyers’ meeting not allowed, notices to Interior Secretary, Superintendent Jail
Court issued notices on Imran Khan's contempt of court petition
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a notice to the Interior Secretary and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for not allowing the lawyers to meet former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Jail.
Justice Saman Rifat Imtiaz of IHC heard the contempt petition of Imran Khan and issued a notice and instructed the lawyer to consider other aspects as well.
Justice Saman remarked that there was no violation of the court order given in this case. The two-member bench of the High Court had given the direction to make the SOPs. If there has been a violation, then the contempt of court application should be made to this bench.
During the hearing, Justice Rifat Imtiaz remarked that in her opinion, the request for contempt of court is not made in this case, ‘I issue a notice but I am not satisfied’.
Later, IHC Justice Saman adjourned the hearing of the case by issuing a notice to the Interior Secretary and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail on Imran Khan's contempt of court petition.
It is pertinent to note that Intizar Panjotha Advocate has made the Interior Secretary and Superintendent Adiala Jail a party in the contempt petition.
