Khawaja Asif rebukes Jemima Goldsmith for tweet concerning Imran Khan’s health
Jemima expressed serious concerns about Imran’s well-being in jail
Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has scolded PTI founder Imran Khan's former wife Jemima Goldsmith after she raised concerns about the health and safety of the former prime minister in prison.
In a social media post on X, Jemima expressed serious concerns about Imran’s well-being in jail, claiming that he was facing "grave and distressing" conditions.
She added that Pakistani authorities had barred family members and legal representatives from meeting him and that all court hearings had been postponed.
PML-N stalwart Khawaja Asif accused Jemima of exaggerating the situation, saying that Imran Khan was being treated with "constant leniency" despite showing no such kindness to his political opponents when he was in power.
Asif recalled that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was not even allowed to speak to his dying wife, Kulsoom Nawaz, during his incarceration.
