Qureshi mocks PTI’s ‘free’ leaders to visit him if time permits
He asked independent leadership including Barrister Gohar, Omar Ayub, Salman Akram, and Waqas Akram to come to Kot Lakhpat Jail if time permits
Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi criticized the party’s free leadership that if time permits, they should come to Kot Lakhpat Jail and visit him.
Talking to the media in Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, Shah Mehmood criticized the independent leaders of PTI and paid tribute to the struggle of Bushra Bibi, Aleema Khan, and Uzma Khan.
Qureshi said that like-minded political parties should be brought to a platform on common points. Instead of criticizing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Bilawal Bhutto should stand with democratic forces by calling a Central Executive Committee meeting.
He asked the independent leadership including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omar Ayub, Salman Akram Raja, and Waqas Akram to come to Kot Lakhpat Jail if time permits.
“Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid, and Sarfaraz Cheema have also been imprisoned in Lahore Jail for a long time. Listen to our point of view too. I have 40 years of political experience, I will give good advice,” added Shah Mehmood.
He further said that PTI’s free leadership is doing a good job. He paid tribute to the struggles of independent leadership.
PTI leader also stated that Bushra Bibi spent her time in jail with courage. The nation has expectations from the judiciary. Like-minded parties should unite for a strong Pakistan. Bilawal Bhutto should decide where he should stand. All democratic forces now have to decide where they stand.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi continued to say that he was imprisoned in Adiala Jail in the cipher case, Allah made him successful. Now he was jailed in Kot Lakhpak in the false cases of May 9. ‘I am standing where I was standing in the past. I was with PTI Chairman and will be’.
He said that on November 24, he supported the founding chairman of PTI. The entire nation, lawyers, and youth should come out on November 24 and raise their voices for rights. The workers should remain peaceful and not take the law into their own hands. Peaceful protest is our constitutional and legal right.
