Mufti Taqi says 26th amendment saved country from political turmoil
He says that after a challenging period, good news surfaced
Islamabad: Renowned cleric Mufti Taqi Usmani on Monday said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment has saved the country from political turmoil as it resolved longstanding issues of usury, federal sharia court and the madaris.
Expressing his gratitude, he said that after a challenging period, good news surfaced. He praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman for his wisdom in guiding the nation, leading to the achievement of several Islamic goals.
Mufti Usmani added that the country was saved from a political crisis, and he prayed for the JUI-F chief's continued success.
The government has included the JUI's proposed amendment in the 26th constitutional amendment, which mandates the complete abolition of interest in Pakistan by January 1, 2028.
