CM Gandapur warns of countrywide protests against 26th amendment

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Tuesday announced to a countrywide protest against the 26th constitutional amendment, labeling it as an attack on judiciary.

Talking to media in the Peshawar High Court, the chief minister said this "unconstitutional amendment" had been passed by an assembly which came to power through Form-47.

Gandapur said the PTI vehemently condemned the 26th amendment and it would lead the protests as it was its legal right.

He said the, “tendency to appoint like-minded people at the top posts of the country, which is also happening now, is a major reason behind such paltry state of affairs.”

Responding to a question, he said the party would give showcause notices to those who gave votes in favour of the 26th amendment.

He added protects would be launched across Pakistan as the people would come out for their right for a complete show of demonstration.

The CM said terrorism was eliminated during the tenure of PM Imran Khan. As soon as he was ousted, the situation became all chaotic with violent events also happening.
