Renowned folk singer Allah Ditta passes away
Chiniot: Renowned Pakistani folk singer Allah Ditta Lonay Wala passed away after prolonged illness, his family confirmed. He was 64.
The legendary artist was suffering from a long term illness and took his last breath at a hospital.
Allah Ditta’s first album consist of supper hits including ‘Shaaman Pei Gaiaan’, ‘Ticketaan Do Lei Lei’ and ‘Main Cham Cham Nachdi Phiraan’.
Ditta was one of the best Punjabi and Siraiki folk singer, well known for his high pitched voice and the way he played with his voice tones.
He started singing from ‘Bazm-e-Adab’ of a local government and won laurels at several forums.
In addition, the prolific singer has performed in both national and international shows.
He had five children including three sons and two daughters. His youngest son Nadeem Abbas is currently a successful folk singer with his hit number Bismillah Karaan.
Allah Ditta Lonay Wala was honored with President of Pakistan’s award ‘Pride of Performance’ followed by other awards.
He was also given ‘Pride of Punjab’ award by Punjab Institute of Languages, Arts and Culture.
