ECP imposes Rs 50,000 fine on Faisal Vawda
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda in disqualification case.
According to details, a five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja conducted hearing on disqualification case against Vawda and summoned him in person during the next hearing.
During the hearing, the petitioner sought time for arguments, requesting court to stop Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader from working as federal minister, to which member of Election Commission Punjab said that today was the last chance to argue.
As Faisal Vawda’s counsel had not appeared before ECP, the Chief Election Commissioner asked the petitioner;s counsel to give arguments in next hearing.
The hearing was adjourned till February 24.
