London: The potential increase in the number of women dying from breast cancer in the UK has sparked concern.
According to statistics, the number of deaths from breast cancer in the UK will increase by almost 40 percent over the next 25 years.
The rate of patients under the age of 50 has also increased rapidly.
In 2022 alone, more than 12,000 women lost their lives to the disease.
There are currently thousands of cases of cancer in the UK, with more than 58,000 confirmed cases in 2022, while this number is expected to exceed 71,000 by 2050.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that this rate is set to increase, with the UK being the only country in the US and Europe where the number of breast cancer patients is likely to increase the most, with the situation also worsening in France and Sweden.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer compiled cancer data from 50 countries, including the UK, during the study.
Researchers have cited unhealthy lifestyles as the main reason for the spread of the disease.
