Solar panels will be provided to consumers in easy instalments of five years

Lahore: To relieve the people troubled by heavy electricity bills from expensive electricity, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will draw the lottery for the Free Solar Panel Scheme today.
According to the report, under the Chief Minister Free Solar Panel Scheme, poor consumers will get free solar systems.
It is pertinent to note that last year, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz gave in-principle approval to the plan to provide solar panels to consumers consuming up to 500 units of electricity.
Under the plan, the Punjab government will provide solar systems to millions of consumers using 50 to 500 units of electricity. The Punjab government will pay 90 percent of the cost of the solar panels, while the consumer will pay 10 percent.
The solar panels will be provided to consumers in easy installments of five years. The installment of solar panels will be relatively low in winter.
The rate between government electricity and electricity obtained from solar panels can also be determined according to the consumer’s needs. According to a transparent procedure, solar systems will be provided to the poorest households in the first phase.
