Lahore: The use of eight unsafe medicines has been banned in Punjab, the Chief Drug Controller Punjab has issued a letter to pharmacies and medical stores to stop the sale of medicines.

According to the letter, the medicine Flagyl used for bacterial infections is substandard, Tramadol, a pain injection for various diseases, has also been declared unsafe, while IV cannula and bacterial infection injection Metronidazole are also unsafe.
The letter states that Karachi customs officials have seized seven batches of unregistered painkillers. The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has banned the use of seven specific batches and ordered all drug inspectors to seize the stock of medicines.
