Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a steep rise in daily coronavirus cases amid fears of fourth wave.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,980 cases of coronavirus were reported while 24 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,642.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 978,847.
As many as 915,343 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,258 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 348,725 in the province with 10,839 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 349,586 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,621.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 139,710 in the province with 4,371 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 28,434 confirmed cases while 317 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 21,392 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 594. On the other hand, there are 7,044 cases in GB with 113 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 83,956 cases in the capital city while 786 people have lost their lives.
