Chinese embassy in Nepal also warns its citizens to stay away from areas near the Nepal-India border

(Reuters): The Chinese embassies in Pakistan and India on Friday advised Chinese citizens to take extra safety precautions and reconsider travel plans to the region, as tensions between the two South Asian countries escalate to their worst level in nearly 30 years.
Fighting flared up after India launched strikes on multiple sites in Pakistan on Wednesday, claiming they were “terrorist camps.” The strikes were in response to a recent deadly attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) last month.
In separate statements, the Chinese embassies in Islamabad and New Delhi urged their nationals to closely monitor the situation and strengthen their personal safety measures.
Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Nepal also warned its citizens to stay away from areas near the Nepal-India border. The embassy reminded travelers that Nepal and India share an open border, and warned against accidentally crossing into India without a valid visa. Both countries have increased border security amid the ongoing tensions.
