Girl was successfully treated with gene editing drug manufactured in China


Beijing: A four-year-old Pakistani girl, Aiza, suffering from Thalassemia Major, was successfully treated in China.
The hospital administration said that a base editing drug called CS-101 was used in the treatment of thalassemia major. The girl was successfully treated with a gene editing drug manufactured in China, after which the girl will now be able to lead a normal life, while this technology was used for the first time on a foreign minor.
The hospital administration also organized a ceremony to celebrate the girl’s recovery.
According to the administration, the girl had arrived in Shanghai with her parents in January for treatment.
According to the administration, four patients, including Aiza, have received this therapy so far. The success of gene editing therapy has given a ray of hope to patients suffering from this disease around the world.
