Police have arrested Nisha, while her husband is still on the run

(Web Desk): In India’s Karnataka state, a young man named Mallikarjun was strangled to death by his sister and brother-in-law in a suspected case of "honour killing" after it was revealed that he was HIV-positive.
According to police, Mallikarjun worked at a private company in Bangalore. A few days ago, he was traveling to his village with friends when their vehicle collided with a truck. During medical treatment for injuries, doctors discovered he was HIV-positive.
His sister Nisha and her husband Manjunath offered to take him back to Bangalore for further treatment. However, on the way, they allegedly strangled him with a blanket and later claimed that he had died suddenly during the journey.
When Mallikarjun's father grew suspicious of their story, the truth was uncovered. Police have arrested Nisha, while her husband is still on the run.
According to police, the couple feared that Mallikarjun's HIV status would bring disgrace and social embarrassment to the family, which led them to commit the crime.
