As per reports, the complaint stated that 30% cut that Google claims from digital purchases on its app store as extreme and unjust.

The lawsuit was filed for the damages of £920m against company for 19.5 million UK Android phone users has been set in motion

The case was launched with the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) by the former official Liz Coll.

An official familiar with the matter said, "Google created the Android app marketplace and controls it with a vice-like grip”.

"Customers are herded towards the Google Play Store and, once there, have no option but to pay a 30% fee whenever they buy an app or make an in-app purchase,” the official added.

"Competing app stores, which could give the same service at a fraction of the price, never get a look in."

Meanwhile, Google argues that this lawsuit disregards many factors such as a number of apps are pre-installed in Android phones, with more than one app store, while a majority of the developers pay no service fee because their apps were free.

A statement in this regard released by the technology company maintained that it engages vigorously and fairly for developers and consumers and its fees were comparable to our competitors.

"This lawsuit ignores the benefits and choice Android and Google Play provide as well as the competitive market in which we operate," the statement added.

Previously, a similar case was filed in May on behalf of IPhone users.
