India’s irresponsible attitude has threatened peace, security of region: Foreign office
Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri on Friday said that India's unwillingness to resolve the longstanding issue of Jammu and Kashmir is the main barrier to bring peace in the region.
During the weekly news briefing in Islamabad, he said the entire world acknowledges Kashmir as a disputed region, which should be resolved in light of UN resolutions.
Mr Chaudhri said international media is exposing Indian atrocities and violation of gross human rights in the occupied valley. Irresponsible attitude of India has threatened the peace and security of the region, he added.
To a question, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Sri Lanka by the end of this month on the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart.
The spokesperson said 7th edition of multinational maritime exercise 'Aman 2021' is underway and it aims at collectively working against human trafficking, smuggling, and terrorism in the region.
The significance of CPEC and Gwadar port will also be highlighted during exercise which will help foster a shared vision for maritime security in the Indian Ocean. Ways and means will be discussed for the development of the blue economy under a secure and sustainable environment under the Aman exercise, the spokesperson added.
