Rawalpindi’s admin imposes smart lockdown in virus hotspots
Rawalpindi: The district administration of Rawalpindi has imposed a smart lockdowns in 28 areas declared as Covid-19 hotspots amid a surge in virus cases across the city.
According to details, the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi has issued a notification of imposition of smart lockdown till August 20 as per section 144.
Moreover, the commercial activities in the city remain suspended on Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday.
Pakistan continues to report a share surge in Covid-19 deaths as threat of delta variant looms large in Pakistan.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,856 cases of coronavirus were reported while 81 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 24,085.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,080,360.
As many as 972,098 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,530 critical cases.
