As fourth wave continues, Pakistan reports nearly 4000 cases and 66 deaths
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus amid threat of highly contagious Indian delta variant.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,974 cases of coronavirus were reported while 66 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 24,639.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,109,274.
As many as 996,426 patients have recovered from the disease with 4885 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 374,916 in the province with 11,434 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 414,850 in the province, while the death toll has reached 6,497.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 153,836 in the province with 4,696 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 31,686 confirmed cases while 335 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 29,790 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 672. On the other hand, there are 9,482 cases in GB with 168 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 94,714 cases in the capital city while 837 people have lost their lives.
