Iran gets SCO permanent membership

Dushanbe: the Islamic Republic of Iran got full membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) at its 21st Summit happened in Dushanbe on September 17.
Iran became the permanent member of SCO after eight member countries decided to grant permanent status to Iran.
Iran has always been a key player in the region and this permanent membership has consolidated its position.
