CJP prioritizes judges’ appointment to vacancies in courts

He stated that before the appointment of judges, it is necessary to amend the rules of the high courts.

Lahore: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa Thursday said that it is a priority to fill the vacancies of judges in the Supreme Court and High Courts.

Addressing the Supreme Court Bar at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa wished the Supreme Court to be completed, saying that it is a priority to fill the vacancies of judges in the Supreme Court and the High Court.

He stated that before the appointment of judges, it is necessary to amend the rules of the high courts for which a committee has been established under the chairmanship of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah. CJP requested the Chief Justice of the High Courts to gradually complete the number of judges in their Courts.

The Chief Justice added that whether the judges be appointed according to the existing procedure or the new rules, will be discussed with the parties according to the rules. The technology has limited the Supreme Court registries, at least no bench should be for less than a week.

Qazi Faez further said that it is to look into whether to keep the video link or the registry or both. The bar and the bench are not different. They always preferred the elected members of the bar. The process of making a bench on the registry has started from Lahore, in the next phase, other registries will be added.

Interior ministry reports fear of terrorist attack on Adiala Jail

Islamabad: The Federal Ministry of Interior Affairs submitted a response in the Sindh High Court (SHC) in the case of providing security in Adiala Jail to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in which it has been said that there are reports of terrorist attack on Adiala Jail.

According to the details, the copy of the response submitted by the Federal Ministry of Interior in the court has become public while the hearing of the case will be held after some time.

According to the report of reliable intelligence agencies, the first target of terrorists is Rawalpindi. The military installations including important personalities in Rawalpindi are also targeted by terrorists.

The report of the Ministry of Interior stated that this terrorism is a plan of the agencies of hostile countries and banned groups, elements hostile to Pakistan want to spread political chaos and anarchy in the country, the life and protection of every citizen, including Imran Khan, is the responsibility of the state.

According to the Ministry of Interior, security, safety and law and order is a provincial matter, concrete measures are being taken in this regard. The request only for the safety of Imran Khan should be rejected.

It is pertinent to note that on March 21, the SHC had issued notices to the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Law Officer on the petition regarding the security of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

Petitioner Abdul Wahab Baloch took the stand that he is the president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) legal wing, Insaf Lawyers Forum Sindh.

He had said that the founder of the party was involved in cases on political grounds and he is currently incarcerated in Central Jail Rawalpindi (Adiala Jail).

Declaring the federal government as the defendant through the Ministry of Interior, he stated that the prison authorities had banned the meetings with the former prime minister on the pretext that there were serious threats to his life and some terrorist had been given explosives who was arrested from around the jail.

The petitioner also argued that under the Constitution, the Federation is responsible for ensuring the protection of all citizens of Pakistan, including the detained PTI founder.

Lahore: National team’s white ball captain Babar Azam revealed that he is wondered on hearing the rumors of having differences with Shaheen Afridi.

According to the details, Babar Azam was doing a press conference before the series against New Zealand in Rawalpindi. He affirmed that he has good relations with Shaheen Afridi.

He stated that his and Shaheen’s target is to win and play match for Pakistan. That is the priority of both the cricketers.

However, the fake rumors were running on social media regarding Shaheen Afridi’s anger on removing from the post of captaincy after the declared announcement of Babar Azam’s captaincy.

It should be noted that Babar Azam had resigned from captaincy due to the bad performance of national team in world cup 2023.
