The Passport and Immigration Department failed to provide machine readable and e-passports in time.

Hundreds of Pakistanis living in other countries including USA, UK and Canada have been waiting for passports for several months due to more than 5,50,000 passports being delayed.

Those wishing to go for Hajj and Umrah are also suffering from mental agony due to not getting passports on time.

The victims say that the Passport and Immigration Department is issuing passports only to those with urgent and fast track fees. It has been three months and the passport has not been received. They had to go for Umrah in Ramadan, which is about to end, but passports have not been received yet.
