The Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather and safety alert due to the forecast of more rains.


Dubai: A safety alert has been issued in six of the seven states of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to heavy rains.
According to media reports, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman and Ras Al-Khaimah received heavy rain with thunder and hail while many areas of Abu Dhabi also received hail.
The Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather and safety alert due to the forecast of more rains.

According to media reports, public holiday has been declared in educational institutions in Dubai and Sharjah today (Monday) and employees of public and private companies have been instructed to work from home.
The officials have also instructed citizens to avoid unnecessary travel.
