Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gauhar on Friday said that the reality is that the government does not want to conduct investigations on the matter of elections.

Barrister Gauhar mentioned that in a democracy, the opposition plays the most crucial role. He criticized the current government for its lack of tolerance and understanding of the opposition, arguing that the resolution by the U.S. House of Representatives cannot be considered American government interference.

Barrister Gauhar pointed out that today the opposition leader from Punjab had their car, office, and staff taken away. He condemned the fact that they are not allowed to speak.

The PTI Chairman also criticized Khawaja Asif's statement, claiming it harmed the country. He noted that Khawaja Asif made the statement without taking the assembly into confidence and was unable to defend it. Gauhar condemned the statement, stating it portrayed a negative image of Pakistan to the world.

He further added that the resolution brought forth was not discussed with them, and the American resolution, which they have not read, calls for ensuring human rights and conducting free and fair elections.
