Pakistan extends invitation to Modi for SCO summit in Islamabad
Invitations have been dispatched to the leaders of all SCO member states
Islamabad: Pakistan has officially invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit set to take place in Islamabad on October 15 and 16 this year.
Invitations have been dispatched to the leaders of all SCO member states, including Narendra Modi.
Indian media reports suggest that the Indian government has not yet decided on whether Modi will attend the summit. There is speculation that a senior Indian minister might represent India instead of Modi at the event.
The last time an Indian official attended the SCO summit in Pakistan was in 2015, when the then-Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj participated in the conference.
