The tragic crash was witnessed by several people as the chopper came down in a busy area during the lunch hour rush.

Rowlett: Two people were killed after a helicopter crashed and burned into a vacant lot in a commercial strip on Texas 66 in Rowlett.
As per reports, the helicopter—a Robinson R44—was headed west when for some reason it came down at 11:30 am on in an empty lot along the 2200 block of Lakeview Parkway, east of Dexham Road on Friday.
The tragic crash was witnessed by several people as the chopper came down in a busy area during the lunch hour rush.
Several social media videos surfaced to show the helicopter spinning out of control and falling with part of its tail boom and other pieces of the aircraft separated from the rest of the cabin.
Workers at a nearby business heard the crash and tried to help.
Moreover, firefighters at the scene surrounded the debris with an improvised tarp to shield the remains of the aircraft from the roadway.
The investigation into the crash is in the early stages and officials have not revealed any further information about the crash, aircraft, or those who were on board.
