Islamabad: PTI Chirman Imran Khan Thursday prayed himself and urged the nation to pray for the removal of obstacles in the way of its freedom tonight.

He was addressing the gathering of party leaders and workers on the eve of the night of 27th of Ramzan.  The special prayer ceremony held in Bani Gala was dubbed as "Shab Dua".

The former prime minister said Pakistan came into existence on the night of the 27th of Ramzan. "Pakistan means La ilaha illa Allah that this country was built with this slogan. Chains will not break unless you understand the meaning of the word."

He said Allah Almighty has commanded us to follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who broke the chains of human salvery in the state of Madinah.

Khan urged the nation to pray that the country "breaks the chains that stand in the way of its freedom."

The PTI chairman said that nations who forget their ideology lose their existence.

He also lamented that Pakistan could not progress towards the Pakistan that the countrymen wanted.

“We had to turn Pakistan into a welfare state and stand on the principles of the state of Madinah, therefore, we should strive to make Pakistan stand on those principles,” said Imran Khan.

Talking about his government’s ouster, the former premier said that the no-confidence motion to remove him was an “interference” in the country’s freedom and through an external conspiracy “puppets” were imposed on Pakistan.

“We have to understand Allama Iqbal’s dream for Pakistan. We have to understand that Pakistan was not supposed to be turned into a normal country,” said the former prime minister. He added that Pakistan was “supposed to become a great nation” by standing on the principles of the state of Madinah.

“The nation should pray today that we break the chains that stand in the way of our freedom,” said the PTI chairman.

Later, religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel explained the significance of the 27th of Ramadan (Shab-e-Qadr or the night of power).

He described the virtues of Shab-e-Qadr and offered special prayers on the occasion of the holy night which filled the eyes of the participants.

He said he had come to this country to pray for the country and not for any political purpose.

Maulana said begging from people is humiliation, while begging from Allah Almighty is pride. "If Allah is pleased then there is no gift more beautiful than death. And If Allah is angry then destruction awaits us."

"I request everyone to create sweetness in their language, even the Prophet (SAW) didn't like the intensity of language at all."

He said the question was raised that Imran Khan had floated the idea of the state of Madinah and how successful he was? "The answer is that Imran Khan is the first person to conceive of the state of Madinah."
