PML-Q's Moonis Elahi appears before FIA in money laundering case
Ch Pervaiz Elahi will also be investigated in the case
Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Moonis Elahi appeared before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a money laundering case against him, GNN reported on Thursday.
According to details, Moonis Elahi reached the FIA office following a money-laundering inquiry launched against him, however, the FIA officials directed him to appear on Thursday morning. He was summoned at 8:30 am.
Moonis Elahi arrived at the FIA office on time.
As per the official sources, the FIA Lahore's Corporate Crime Circle registered the case against Moonis Elahi on the sugar commission’s report.
The PML-Q stalwart is accused of making properties abroad by allegedly sending money through Hundi and Hawala, the FIA said.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Speaker of Punjab Assembly and father of Moonis Elahi, will also be investigated in the money laundering case.
The FIA has also arrested two close associates of the secretary Punjab Assembly – Nawaz Bhatti and Mazhar Iqbal – in a case related to money laundering.
