Amid 6th wave fears, Pakistan's daily COVID case count crosses 600-mark
For the first time in 3.5-months, fresh cases of Covid-19 in Pakistan crossed 600-mark.
Islamabad: Amid fears of a sixth COVID-19 wave, Pakistan witnessed an upward trajectory as the country reported two deaths and 641 new infections in past 24 hours, with positivity ratio at 3.41%.
For the first time in 3.5-months, fresh cases of Covid-19 in Pakistan crossed 600-mark.
According to the figures released by the National Institute of Health (NIH) , an uptick in new COVID-19 cases in Pakistan consistently continues as the country reported 641 new daily cases.

Authorities, however, have started imposing restrictions in a bid to curb the infection rate— making ‘mask wearing’ mandatory for passengers travelling on public transport, including busses and trains.
The overall tally of the infected people climbed to 1535785 across Pakistan after adding the fresh cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 508,364 in the province with 13,571 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 580,574 in the province, while the death toll has reached 8,113.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 220,000 in the province with 6,324 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 33,638 confirmed cases while 378 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 43,388 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 792. On the other hand, there are 11,760 cases in GB with 191 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 136,153 cases in the capital city while 1,026 people have lost their lives.
