Trenton: An armed person attacked Imam Masjid during Fajar prayer and stabbed him twice in the back in US state New Jersey on Sunday morning, GNN reported.
According to details, Imam had been shifted to hospital for medical aid and doctors declared his condition out of danger and expected to recover soon.
American media reported that there were 200 worshippers present in the mosque when Imam was attacked.
Police had instantly arrested the attackers however it did not reveal his identity.
On the other hand, worshippers were attacked with car in the premises of Markham mosque in Canada.
Canadian police arrested 28-year-old attacker Sharom Karona Caron and registered the cases against him for hatred, threatening, attacking with weapons and rash driving.
The Islamic society of Markhom stated that earlier on April 6, the accused entered the mosque, shaheed the Holy Quran and directed worshippers for provocative Islamophobia.
Federal and provincial governments of Canada condemned the attack on Muslims’ community.
