Lahore: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Wednesday organized a session on the economic situation and solution at their premises. The event was followed by a grand Iftar dinner.

The session was attended by former LCCI presidents, members, a large number of market leaders, and trade and industrial associations. LCCI President Kashif Anwar welcomed the guests, while Senior Vice President Chaudhry Zafar Mahmood, Vice President Adnan Khalid Butt, and Executive Committee members were also present.

During the session, President Anwar expressed his hope for a marked improvement in the country's economy in the next three months, once the IMF Review is completed and the political instability is lifted. He also encouraged the association to forward their budget suggestions to LCCI as soon as possible so that they can be incorporated into the budget proposals.

President Anwar emphasized the need for a Charter of Economy in the country, on which all stakeholders agree. In this regard, the LCCI had contacted all major political parties in Pakistan and asked them to share their economic agenda with them.

He further invited suggestions from the businessmen to be delivered to the relevant government houses in time, stating that if the business community is given a free hand by the government institutions, business conditions can improve quickly.

President Anwar informed the participants about his efforts to highlight the need and importance of the Charter of Economy in recent months. He gave special attention to increasing the tax base, reducing business costs, reducing the trade deficit with the help of import substitution, promoting renewable energy, and increasing access to finance, especially for the SME sector.

The session ended with a grand Iftar dinner, which was attended by all the guests. The event was an opportunity for business leaders to exchange ideas and discuss strategies for the country's economic development.
