Seoul: USS Michigan, an Ohio-class guided-missile submarine, has arrived in Busan, South Korea, following North Korea's recent missile launch, according to the Defense Ministry in Seoul.

The submarine's visit marks the first time in nearly six years that a submarine of this kind has stopped in South Korea.

North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles into the sea on Thursday, with Japan reporting that they landed in its exclusive economic zone.

The joint U.S.-South Korean navies aim to strengthen their special warfare capabilities and interoperability through joint training.

The visit highlights the commitment to regional stability and peace.
