Pakistan rejects US-India joint statement, terms it misleading and unwarranted

Islamabad: The Foreign Office of Pakistan criticized the joint statement issued by the US and India following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with President Joe Biden.
The statement, which called on Pakistan to take action against extremist groups targeting India, was described as "misleading and unwarranted" by the Pakistani Foreign Office.
The FO stated that the reference to Pakistan in the joint statement was contrary to diplomatic norms and had political motivations. Pakistan emphasized its close counterterrorism cooperation with the US and highlighted the sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism.

The Foreign Office expressed disappointment that the joint statement did not address key sources of tension and instability in the region, including the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
It also expressed concern over the transfer of advanced military technologies to India, which they believe undermines strategic stability in the region. Pakistan urged international partners to adopt a holistic and unbiased approach to peace and security in South Asia.
