Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday asked Israel over its statement about internal mattes of Pakistan, saying that “It should look into its own actions”.

“Yesterday, you heard the statement of Israel. Israel has been shedding bloods of innocent Palestinians for the last many years. The innocent Muslims there have been suffering as many children have become orphans. That Israel is now speaking against the May 9 cases in Pakistan,” said the PM, asking Israeli authorities that what they would have done if the similar incidents had taken place there.

He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with the inauguration of Shaheen Chowk flyover in Islamabad on Wednesday.

“I don’t want to give it any religious color but you can see the connections of all this. But their religion also does not allow them to shed blood of the innocent people,” said PM Shehbaz, questioning Israeli authorities as to why they felt pain over what happened on May 9.

The incidents of May 9, he said, were so dreadful that the nation could not forget. The PM said that the conspiracy was done to spread anarchy.

Calling Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah “Haji" [pilgrim], the PM said that the prayers of the pilgrims like him bore fruits and Pakistan was now closer to the IMF deal.

“IMF program is not a sweet dish for us. This is a tough program. We agreed to this program just because we are forced to do,” said Shehbaz Sharif, adding that the revival program for the progress of the country was now in front of them as the whole Pakistan including the armed forces are part of it.

“I’m hopeful that this program of revival include many things including agriculture and technology will take the country out of crises, and will emerge as a power stage on the world globe. For this, we have to develop a will to do,” he added.

He lashed out at PTI Chairman Imran Khan, saying that he destroyed the country’s economy.

“Who was this who stopped the provincial finance ministers from writing letters to IMF? Who was this who said that Pakistan was going to be Pakistan?  Sri Lankan leader asked the IMF senior official to help Pakistan. And this Imran Niazi while sitting here with his group was making attempts and wishing to make Pakistan default,” said the PM.

He said, “This is the point which the people need to understand that the establishment brought this man to power. Rigging was done in the last elections. But the four years under his rule are in front of him,”.

PM Shehbaz Sharif asked the audience that whether they heard even a single case of corruption during their short period of one years and quarter.

“I can say it with surety that we bought wheat and many other things including fertilizers through the transparent ways, and took part in the process against the lowest prices to buy the things. Was there any scandal during this period?,” said the PM.

He went on to say that as compared to Imran Niazi who used to call others “thieves” they introduced another big project.

“We have done another deal of nuclear plant with China against Imran Niazi—which is a great success of Nawaz Sharif government,” said Shehbaz Sharif, adding that the cost of the project was not much than the amount set by Nawaz Sharif in 2017.

He stated that he made request to China and they accepted

“Imran Niazi called others thieves and took away the watch carrying the symbol of Ka’aba’.  Now the people who were close to Niazi were speaking. He concealed the envelop and got the signature of the cabinet members,” said Shehbaz Sharif.

He said that some of the ministers dared to ask Niazi about that envelop.

“That was the worst corruption. What does mean by sending money to the Supreme court instead of the treasure of the government,” said the PM.

He added that May 9 incidents were awful as the enemy could not do so.

“I don’t want to ask you people to vote us. You have the right to vote to anyone but open your eyes and check the facts. If we come into power we make promise that we will sacrifice everything for the sake of Pakistan and will provide all possible resources to the young generations and will work on different projects like the minerals, and will make the nation strong. We will respect the nation if it votes to any other patriotic party. We are not like the PTI that writes letters to the powers to stop them from selling even weapons to the army and signing other projects,” said Shehbaz Sharif.

While directly addressing Imran Khan over victory of 1992 Cricket World Cup, PM Shehbaz Sharif said, “This is the country which made you a cricket star. You neglected all other eleven players as Javed Miandad was also among them who did team work and won the World Cup but you used to say “I won that world Cup”. And now you have turned out to be the enemy of the country,”.

This flyover will be complete even before the short time of six months, he vowed.
